Truly the founder of modern Anthropology....and those of us in many, many other disciplines owe much to his thinking, as well. His keen analysis of the structures of society, and the ways in which those structures are repeated in our rituals and our religious mythologies, has taught all of us--even those who are not aware of his influence on modern thought--to see ourselves in new ways. The world has lost one of the twentieth century's greatest thinkers.

From the article, "He worried about the fate of the West. It was, he wrote in The New York Review of Books, “allowing itself to forget or destroy its own heritage.”

Pretty damning view of the Obama administration and the democrat party in general.

Coming from such a revered anthropologist, it ought to give them pause at their own actions.

You have got to be kidding. He thinks he's the man who invented blue jeans. Another fine product of America's school system.
