and this is why he too will go down in flames w/the rest of the dems! Keep it up guys..We'll be clearing the senate of all those who supported this idiotic plan to begin with! We're taking notes..rest assured..we are watching..and we won't forget who sold us out..to a useless govt run healthcare..
America need a comprehensive health care plan. The only civilized country without universal health coverage for it's citizens.
Unfortunately heath care is another industry like any other conglomerate in America which means that they can use lobbyists to buy politicians like they would buy cheap whores.
We can only hope the man will stick to his guns. This health care bill has little to do with health care and much to do with government power over and control of as many aspects of our lives as possible - and of course forcing more people to vote for Dems.
Lieberman is useless. He has no clue of what he stands for and no balls to stand up for what he should - KILL THE BILL.
By the way, Patrick, yes health care is an industry. Who's hands are tied by the GOVERNMENT. Tort reform. Sell across state borders. Stop states like VT from dictating so that companies don't leave but offer alternatives.
Politicians are "cheap whores" and voters are "lazy & dumb". Ultimately it is the voters who vote the cheap whores in because they were too lazy and dumb to research their candidate before voting.
Kind of sticks when it comes back to you... the voter...
1 in 7 Americans are hungry and 1 in 7 Americans are uninsured.
Why is it a national crisis to get hungry people insured?
Joe, I'm a life long CT. Resident and have voted for you many times!! I hope ypou can see that this bill is about Government control not about a bill that helps America.
I will not vote for anyone that votes for this rediculous, government controling bill!!
SEIU AND ACORN CONTROL SO MANY VOTES THESE CONGRESSMEN/WOMEN NEED FOR RE-ELECTION THAT THEY WILL VOTE WHATEVER SEIU/ACORN SAY TO VOTE !!!
I think Lieberman must be an Alzheimer's patient, he has no idea what party he wants to be in.
He had a choice last Saturday. Vote no and end this government takeover of health care and the increase in the cost of health care and taxes (which will send more jobs out of the country) that will come when this bill is passed. Or vote no and we could start over with real healthcare reform that would make it affordable. He made his decision last Saturday. We will remember all the names of those that voted for this bill. I will personally print those names here. I hope it's not too late when we vote out everyone of them in 2010.
Go get em' Joe! At least we have a couple people in office that still have a conscience. Stand for whats right, and represent the people!
Lieberman falsely projects himself to be a man of conviction and fiscal responsibility. In his minds eye he will get it right for everyone else. Truth is he is un-convicted in health reform and general statesmanship. Voters have the luxury of waiting for the polls to open, viewing the cards, and casting their vote. Governing statesmen/women do not have that luxury and must choose a conservative or liberal course of governance. If he's so fiscally concerned as he imagines anyone would ever believe. Then where has that value been hidden during his entire political career. For 60 years Democrats have prioritized people over would be monetary handlers much more than Republicans have. Stand alone Mr. Lieberman is more un-American than all the big business Republican puppets put together. At least we know they're corporate operatives. Sell out Lieberman hides behind his Independent mask. You'll be well remembered Joe; for being on the wrong side of history.
Lieberman could have stopped the health care bill, cold, with a “NO” vote on Saturday night. Instead he voted to send the bill to the floor and, thus, perpetuate this piece of Democrat socialist hogwash.
Now he is catching hell from his constituents and realizes he may be in danger of replacement the next time he runs for reelection. So he comes up with a preposterous stance that he thinks will save his corrupt soul. It won't work, Joe. Your days in the halls of power are drawing to a close. You will join Landrieu, Lincoln, and Nelson in the never-never land of has-been pols who thought the electorate was stupid. Bye, bye Joe – you won’t be missed.
SHOULD HITCH HIS WAGON TO SARAHS RV AND IN 2012, THEY CAN RIDE THE FENCE ALL THE WAY TO WHITE HOUSE
THANKS JOE!
The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Tuesday shows that 27% of the nation's voters Strongly Approve of the way that Barack Obama is performing his role as President. Forty-two percent (42%) Strongly Disapprove giving Obama a Presidential Approval Index rating of -15. This is the lowest Approval Index rating yet measured for President Obama.
Support for the health care plan proposed by the President and Congressional Democrats has fallen to a new low of 38%. Sixty percent (60%) of voters believe passage of the bill will lead to higher health care costs.
Topper, thanks; you said a bunch. We'd all like to have a senator go to bat for(with) those opposed to this bill. However, he tells us, "at the end of the day, it will pass." So why the gyrations, Senator? Why the grandstanding? If - or when - they throw you or Ct. a bone (ala Louisiana) you'll probably fold like a cheap camera. The best outcome for this many-month charade is a crash-and-burn halt. THEN, do it right, in the open, with many viewpoints heard, and designed to help those in need. But that would mean abandoning the Cloward-Piven strategy....
JOE YOU HAD MY VOTE IF YOU WOULD HAVE RAN FOR PRESIDENT. you seem to be one of the few remaining senators with something rare common sense. good old gore stabbed you in the back, and you had so much class you didnt even attack him. cant say i would not have. thanks for looking out for us.
Why would anyone think a Gubmnt run health system would be better than having your own doctors decide what is best for you and your own family?
There used to public health clinics where poor people could go and see doctors and get treated and only pay what they could afford.
Why not do that again? In the old days they also had "charity hospitals" for the poor. Nobody was turned away if they could not pay. That would not cost as much as overhauling and destroying all the great hospitals and medical facilities we now have...that have been over run by millions of illegals who go the ERs for sick kids, bad colds, earaches, etc.
When millions of uninsured and illegals do not pay... they pass the costs to the ones who do have insurance and makes it more expensive for everyone else to insure their own families.
Bring back the public clinics for those who cannot afford insurance.
